Gordon "Gordy" Vincent Garrow age 78 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Wednesday August 11, 2021 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls with his family at his side. Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 PM with a scripture service at 7:00 PM Friday August 13, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1600 S. Marion Road, Sioux Falls.  A funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 AM Saturday at the church with a time of fellowship to follow. Burial will be at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Marshall, MN.

Gordy was born in Ford Hospital to Vincent and Eleanor (Marcotte) Garrow on September 4, 1942 in Marshall, MN. The second oldest of four children, Gordy graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1961.

On January 28, 1965, he was united in marriage to Kathleen (Kate) Culhane in Marshall. While in Marshall, they raised Kate's two youngest siblings as well as their four children. After the graduation of their youngest son, Gordy and Kate relocated to Sioux Falls. While in Sioux Falls, they enjoyed raising their oldest grandchild.

Family and friends were most important to Gordy. He logged many hours watching his kids and grandkids in their activities and was their biggest fan. Gordy was a people person. He enjoyed being around people and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was always interested in what was going on in your life! Lots of good times were spent with their friends in The Happening Group and the Jaycees. His personality was contagious to those around him.

Gordy was a hard worker as he valued hard work in all he did. He enjoyed the  camaraderie and he had an endless supply of energy to share with others. In Marshall, he managed Western Gas Station and was a foreman for Dulas Construction. Orion Food Systems/Hot Stuff brought his move to Sioux Falls and he finished his working career at Creative Surfaces.

Catholic faith was important to Gordy. He could be found in the same pew every Sunday morning at the 8:00 mass. He was a member of St Michael Parish in Sioux Falls.

Grateful for having shared his life and be influenced by his principles are his daughter, Suzanne (Tom) Dysart, Denver, CO; daughter, Amy Garrow, Mahtomedi, MN; son, Jon (Julie) Garrow, Sioux Falls, SD; son, Jason (Amy) Garrow, Ponte Vedra, FL; 12 grandchildren: Brianna Carroll, Staci Ulrich, Joe Stupka, Trei Dysart, Tieran Dysart, Tia Tumbleson, Shayla Dysart, Tavian Tumbleson, Peyton Garrow, Pierce Garrow, Tysell Dysart, Piper Garrow; 5 great grandchildren: Cameron and Ky'ren Hampton; Rae and John Miles Ulrich; Olivia Stupka; brother, Tom  (Dar) Garrow, Ruthton, MN; sister, Mary (Rick) Carstenson, Marshall, MN; and 8 nieces and nephews.

Gordy was preceded in death by his wife, Kate, his parents, Vincent and Eleanor Garrow, and his sister, Joyce Garrow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed to LifeScape or Avera Kirby Place.
