Jeffrey Wardell, age 68, passed away February 24, 2023 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, with his family by his side.

Jeffrey Thomas Wardell was born August 03, 1954 in Sioux Falls, SD to Lyle and Virginia (Hermann) Wardell. He attended O'Gorman High School where he graduated in 1973.

On May 22, 1982 he was united in marriage with Sandra Heilman in Sioux Falls, SD.

Jeff worked many jobs throughout his life. Sweetman's Construction for many years, along with doing firework shows every 4 ^th of July, which we all know was his favorite holiday. He was a pyrotech for 35 years before having to retire from Rich Brother's and Premier Pyrotechnics. He also worked for the Great Plains Zoo where he did maintenance, but loved working around the animals more. He also volunteered much of his time there for Zoo Boo and Christmas with the animals.

Jeff spent much of his time at sporting events with his children and then grandchildren. He loved bowling, hunting, watching NASCAR and his Steelers.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Sandy; daughter, Lacey; brothers, Rogue Wardell, Kim Wardell and Todd Wardell; nephew, Adam Wardell; grandchildren, Ava, Jillian, Dominic, Angel and Kaylee; nieces, Angie Wardell and Jessica Forseth; great nephew, Drake; great nieces, Izzy, Maddy and Blair.

Jeff was preceded in death by his Children, Jami and Steven; parents, Lyle and Virginia; grandmother, Margaret; brothers, Joel and Daniel.
