Jonathan Klaassen, 37, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, with his family by his side, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Jon was born August 18, 1988, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Donald and Katherine Klaassen. He spent his elementary years attending Calvin Christian School and enjoyed playing soccer, basketball, baseball, and making lifelong friends. He moved with his family to Ellsworth, MN, in the 5th grade and enjoyed playing basketball, football, and running track. He graduated from high school in 2007. In Ellsworth, his friends became like family.

After high school, he moved to Sioux Falls and worked at Finish Line. He then started working as a Diesel Mechanic for North Central International in 2009 while attending Southeast Technical Institute, where he earned his degree in 2011. He was promoted to Service Manager in 2017. Jon devoted his time and energy to helping trucking customers get where they needed to go. He cared deeply about his customers and his co-workers.

Jon enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, listening to music, laughing at funny movies, and quoting The Office . He also loved hanging out with his niece and nephew and supporting them in all of their activities.

Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Don and Kathy (Melichar) Klaassen; sister, Angela (David) Dingsor; niece, Norah; and nephew, Henry; brother, Jared Klaassen; and girlfriend, Autumn Steichen.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Raymond and Elloise Klaassen, George and Martha Melichar; and brother, Benjamin Klaassen.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 9, 2026, at First Reformed Church (4800 Tomar Road) in Sioux Falls with burial to follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock, IA. The family will greet friends for visitation from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home - Downtown Chapel (507 S. Main Ave) in Sioux Falls.
