Loren Roger Foss, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Miller Funeral Home – Southside Chapel (7400 S Minnesota Ave). A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 20, 2021, at Miller Funeral Home – Southside Chapel.  Masks are encouraged by the family as well as social distancing.

Loren was born September 11, 1956, to William "Bill" and Beverly "Bev" Foss in Sioux Falls, SD. Loren attended Lincoln Senior High School and participated on the wrestling team. Loren was an E5 HHC 1st Infantry Division, for the US Army. Loren worked for Midwest Coast Transport for many years until he took a position at First Century Federal Credit Union as Chief Financial Officer. Loren retired in 2019.

Most of all Loren loved spending time and talking with his children and grandchildren. Loren loved tie-dye shirts and crass jokes. Loren loved to bowl and ride bicycles. Loren was the top fundraiser for MS bike ride for several years. He was the coach for the Lincoln High School girls bowling team they placed 2 ^nd in the Star City Open.

Loren is survived by his brother, Warren Foss, Peoria, AZ; sister, Kay Jurgensen, Sioux Falls, SD; special friend, Carol Mellema; children, Casey Mellema Scott, Sioux Falls, SD, Jesse Mellema, Sioux Falls, SD, Bobbi Johnson (McLain) Wenatchee, WA, Nathan Mellema, Sioux Falls, SD, Josie (Mauro) Bueno, Crowley, TX, Carly Foss, Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Chloe Scott, Kennedy Scott, Ashton Scott, Boston Scott, Mayes Johnson, and Aami Foss Thomas; his cat, Beans; and many special friends and family members.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, William and Beverly Foss; grandparents, Arthur and Eva Foss, and Oswald and Anna Olson; brother-in-law, Steven L. Jurgensen; and special friends, Lizzie the dog and Samantha the cat.
