O.L. "Larry" Anderson was born on September 28, 1930 to Oliver and Meneva Anderson.  He attended Sundy Grade School, Beresford High School, and graduated from St Olaf College in Northfield, MN.

Larry married Jone Sager on December 27, 1952.  He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, being honorably discharged after receiving the Bronze Star Award.    He returned home to run the family farm and also had a well repair business. He served in the South Dakota Legislature as a State Representative from 1971 to 1980. After farming for many years, he became a New York Life insurance agent.

In 1993, he married Marilyn Pruitt, and lived in Sioux Falls until his passing.

Larry was an active member of First Lutheran Church, where he had a wonderful fellowship with the men's morning coffee group. He completed many woodworking projects in the Church basement workshop.  He was involved with many community activities.

Larry is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter Kristin Gedstad, son David (Karen) Anderson, son Arne Anderson, Step-children Melanie Solem, Michelle (Jack) Nelson, Mark Solem, and Jennifer Pruitt; Grandchildren Linde (Joe) Murray, Leah (James) Hoem, Dan (Jessica) Anderson, Rachel (Tyler) Rasmussen, Carrie Anderson, and Jesse Anderson; Step-grandchildren Christina Nelson, Kevin Nelson, Brooke Pruitt, Oliver Pruitt, Rachel Ball, Alison Ball, and Shanna Ball. Great-grandchildren include Lily, Jonas, and Gabe Murray, Merrick, Finley, and Quinn Anderson, and Nora and Grace Rasmussen.
