Paul Robert Ahrendt, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Ava's Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, followed by a prayer service at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Miller Funeral Home (Downtown Location) 507 S. Main Ave. Sioux Falls, SD.

A private burial will be held at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.

Paul was born on April 15, 1955, in Sioux Falls to Robert and Gertrude Ahrendt.

He graduated from Hills Beaver Creek and later attended vocational school.

Throughout his working years, Paul worked at Jim Hawk Truck and Trailer, Schapp's Traveland, and Frisbee's before eventually retiring.

Paul was a simple man who enjoyed the things that made life good. He loved racing, camping, and spending time with his friends—especially when it included having a few beers and good conversation at the Hi-Ho. Those who knew Paul will remember his easygoing nature, his love of a good time, and the memories he made with the people he cared about.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen (Groff) Ahrendt, his girlfriend, Lana Mauer; his parents, Robert and Gertrude Ahrendt; and his sister, Nancy Hoyme.

He is survived by his step-daughter, Erica Mays; son-in-law, Dave Mays; and grandson, Cash Mays, all of Sioux Falls.

Paul will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the many good times spent together.
