Sioux Falls - Sally I. Bruns, 81, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away on October 30, 2019 at the Diamond Care Center Nursing Home in Bridgewater, SD after a valiant battle with Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy (PSP).

Sally was born in 1938 to William B. and Irene V. Bruns in Sioux Falls, SD.  After graduating from Washington High School, she attended Augustana College.  Sally enjoyed life and had many interests. In high school, Sally worked at The Cottage as one of the first car hops in Sioux Falls. In her earlier career days, she was a dance instructor at Aurther Murray Dance Studio in Sioux Falls which aired on TV once a week.  She lived in Denver, CO for a number of years working as a real estate agent and moved back to Sioux Falls in the late 1980's where she enjoyed various jobs. Sally was an active member of Ducks Unlimited and she loved training her 5 black labs for field trials over the years along side her best friend and companion of 25 years, John Marr. She also enjoyed pheasant and duck hunting, baking and cooking, collecting recipes, gardening, the outdoors, watching her favorite football team the Denver Broncos and being with her friends and family.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents, her sister-in-law, Eloa (James) Bruns, and her niece, Kathlene Bruns Te Slaa.  She is survived by her brother James W. Bruns, her brother William R. and his wife, Carolyn Bruns, her sister Mary and her husband, Mike Brzica, all of Sioux Falls, SD; her aunt Marian Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

There will be a private family service at Miller Funeral Home downtown
(507 S. Main Street) on Friday, November 1, 2019 with a private family burial at St. Michael Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD following.  Memorials may be directed to Ducks Unlimited Foundation.
